Pillsbury Display Sailboats

Individually these sailboats are fairly common but as a pair and with the boxes are quite rare. They are for a Pillsbury display but the boats and sails are not logoed. They are 26″ from stem to stern so one of the larger sailboats that Keystone produced. One has a red sail and the other is yellow. I have never seen the yellow sail outside of this set. They are both near mint as they were never assembled and played with. As you can see there is paint flaking on the keels which can be common as these toys age. As a side note each sailboat would go into the triangle box it is leaning on and they in turn would go into the shipping box. The triangle boxes just say red sail, on one, and yellow sail on the other. The shipping box has what you see and Keystone Wooden Toys Boston, Mass on the other side. There is no model number and likely never meant to be sold, but used solely for display to advertise the actual sailboats. These were produced sometime between 1953 and 1957.

From my private collection.
