Keystone Exploding Ship with Atomic Submarine Model #361

This is one of the fun ones.  Everybody enjoys this set when they see it.  The ship measures 12″ x 2.75″ and the submarine is 9″ x 1.75″.  The overall design is very sleek and simple.  Even the trigger release on the sub has been reduced to a small piece that protrudes above the deck just enough for it to be pressed with a finger.  The ship has a mousetrap spring in the center and when the red target is struck all of the upper decking explodes off of the hull.  The explosion sends off four separate pieces. The box is labeled Keystone Wood Toys and appears in the 1955 catalog.

  1. I have pieces of a sea raider. No turrets or spring. Question can one still buy spring mech, or is it simply a mouse trap from local hardware store. Thanks for your help as I wish to restore ship. SCHONEY

    1. Hello,
The spring is a mouse trap style mechanism but it is mounted by way of a metal plate. If you send me a photo of which type of exploding ship you have I might have replacement turrets.
