This is the second set like this that I have acquired. Both are in this type of box which is not typical of the boxes of the 1950’s. This box is stamped 1 PC 4784 and the other is 1 PC 666. These do not appear in any of the catalogs with this packaging or numbering. This set would have come with four train cars. It is missing the yellow one.

Many years ago I found a set like this [no box] and it had a tender behind the locomotive, but I don’t remember if it was yellow. What I do remember was the keystone style ends of the track sections breaking off, usually just a single side. I believe it was a mistake Keystone made in cutting the slot in the end, as it made those ends less strong. They should have slightly tapered the end sections [both male & female] so they would nest better.
