Keystone C-12 Aircraft Carrier Model #219

This ship measures 16″ x 4″.  The deck on this one is finished darker than the other one I have.  Unfortunately someone painted the planes gray, they originally would have been red.  It first appears in the 1940-1941 catalog as a “Toy Fair Blue Ribbon Winner” and continues to appear at least through the 1942-1943 catalog.  When the ship is first introduced it is only fourteen inches long but increases to sixteen inches in 1941.  That would make the fourteen inch a one year production run and the rarest of the C-12 Aircraft Carriers.  I have only seen these designated as C-12’s but all of the catalogs show them as C-3’s.  The pictures were not always true to what was actually produced but I am looking for one designated C-3.

From my private collection.
